Bad Joke About Bomb Causes Evacuation At Anchorage Airport
A bad joke at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport caused the place to be evacuated over the weekend according to The New York Times. Peter Friesema was arrested as a result of the joke on charges of making terrorist threats and disorderly conduct. Mr. Friesema was jailed at the Anchorage Correctional Complex with bail set at $5,000 according to airport manager John Parrott.
Peter Friesema made a bad joke about how a bomb could have been hiding in his friend’s luggage. Peter Friesema noticed that the agent placed his sticker on his friend’s bags and he became concerned about a potential mix-up. The agent explained that it did not matter since the luggage was headed to the same destination.
This is when Peter Friesema decided to say “But my friend’s bag has a bomb in it.” He expected a laugh, but he was arrested instead. A lot of people that were evacuated did not have clothes that was suitable for the cold temperatures. This article was written by Amit Chowdhry.
