Sesame Street Orders C&D Against Sexy Big Bird Halloween Costume

Mitt Romney said that he “loves Big Bird,” but intends to cut some of the funding that PBS receives from the government if he was elected president in the first debate against Barack Obama.  Big Bird became a hot topic and then the muppet character appeared on SNL.  This was followed up an Obama ad that discussed how Romney focuses too much on Sesame Street and not Wall Street and Sesame Street sent a take-down notice to the President.  Recently Sesame Street sent a take-down notice against Yandy.com, who is selling a “Sexy Big Bird” Halloween costume.  Sesame Street Workshop’s Sarah Beth Erb told Buzzfeed “our legal team has sent a cease and desist letter to the website selling them, will monitor the site, and follow up accordingly to make sure the items in question are removed.”
