Asus Hits $230 Million In Profit Due To Strength In Notebook and Tablets

Asus, one of the largest Taiwanese computer and tablet companies, has reported their third quarter at 6.71 billion New Taiwan dollars ($229.8 million U.S.) in net income on 111.43 billion New Taiwan dollars ($3.8 billion) in revenue).  This is a 9% increase in revenue from Q3 2011 and 43% increase in net income for the same period.  Last quarter, Asus saw 18% more revenue and 39% greater in net income.

Asus has been having more luck than HP and Dell since those two companies are struggling to sell PCs and tablets.  Asus’ netbooks are less popular, but they made it for it with their notebook sales.  The company shipped 800,000 tablets in Q2 and 2.3 million in Q3, largely due to the popularity of the Nexus 7 tablet.
