Every day, NASA posts an Astronomy Picture of the Day.  The images range from pictures of the planets, moon, galaxies, the sun, etc.  You can read a detailed explanation of the image including clickable links, display detailed pictures, save the APOD as a PDF, etc.  You can add favorites and access the favorites offline.  The app works on the iPhone, iPod, and iPad.  Price: $2.99
