Oenophiles Rejoice As Amazon.com Starts Selling Wine

Amazon.com has announced that they have started selling wine through the service Amazon Wine (amazon.com/wine).  The Amazon Wine marketplace gives customers access to over a thousand wines crafted from wineries across the country.  The new store has easy-to-use shopping tools to help customers find great wines and offer access to details directly from winemakers like tasting notes and recommended food pairings.

“Whether it’s helping customers find a favorite varietal, shop for holiday pairings or expand their cellar with a special hand-crafted bottle, we’re excited to provide the right tools and information needed to guide them to the perfect wine,” stated Amazon Marketplace VP Peter Faricy. “We’re thrilled for wineries around the country to share their great collections of wines with our customers through the Amazon Wine Store.”

Customers can ship up to 6 bottles of their favorite wine for $9.99.  Shipping will be available to California, Connecticut, Idaho, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, North Carolina, Wyoming, and D.C. as of right now.  More states will be added soon.
