Marc Andreessen Selling $54.1 Million In Facebook Stock To Pay Tax Bill

Marc Andreessen, the co-founder of the VC firm Andreessen Horowitz, is also a major shareholder and board member at Facebook.  He has disclosed in an SEC filing that he has sold over 2.3 million shares of Facebook at prices that range from $22.85 to $23.83 per share.  This adds up to around $54.1 million.

Lowe’s Is Selling The First-Gen Nest Thermostat For $198

The first-generation Nest device is now selling for $198 at Lowe’s this week.  This is down $30 from the original price.  This deal will be available from Thursday to Monday so that you have plenty of time to buy one.  The first generation is a little bit thicker and the second generation works with more types of home heating and cooling systems.  You can view the deal here.

Instagram Now Has Profile Badges

Instagram has launched an Instagram badges feature according to Mashable.  This allows people to promote and share their Instagram profiles on the web.  You can grab the Instagram badge from http://instagram.com/accounts/badges.  From there you can select the icon that you want to copy/paste the JavaScript script.  This code can be pasted on your blog or Tumblr account.

Facebook Is Opening Up Their Data For Sharing With Instagram

Facebook is combining their user data with Instagram and is loosening the restrictions on e-mails between members of the social network.  Facebook is also planning to scrap a 4-year old process to allow users to vote for changes on policies and terms of services.

Mayor Cory Booker To Live On Food Stamps After Twitter Bet

Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker has entered a bet to live on food stamps.  Some of his Twitter followers made the bet with him.  Mayor Booker will start living off food stamps sometime after Thanksgiving.  Mayor Booker is social media savvy and he used Twitter to inform people about how he was helping Hurricane Sandy victims.  He also live tweeted shelters that had availability for people.  Mayor Booker recently launched a video curation service called #waywire.
