Health Analytics App Company Ginger.io Raises $6.5 Million

Ginger.io is a health analytics startup company that  has announced that they have raised $6.5 million in Series A funding.  This round of funding was led by Khosla Ventures with participation from seed investors True Ventures and Romulus Capital.  Ginger.io actually became a company from a project that CEO Anmol Madan started at the MIT Media Lab.

The Ginger.io platform “helps patients to better understand and manage their health.”  It collects data through your mobile phone and lets you share insights with your doctor.  Hospitals can continue to track patients between visits using Ginger.io.

Some of their current customers include Cincinnati Children’s Hospital’s Chronic Collaborative Care Network and Carolinas-based hospital system Carolina-based hospital system Novant.
