OMGPOP’s Chief Revenue Officer Wilson Kriegel Becomes President and COO Of Paltalk

OMGPOP chief revenue officer Wilson Kriegel has become the president and chief operating officer at New York based startup Paltalk.  OMGPOP was acquired by Zynga for $210 million in cash and retention.  Paltalk is a video chat service that raised $6 million in funding eight years ago.

Paltalk has around 150 million registered users and they are a video chat community that offers free group video calls and chats.  Kriegel stated that over 20 million streams are viewed per day through Paltalk and the average log-in time is 61 minutes per session.

“This company is generating tens and tens of millions of dollars in revenue every year,” stated Kriegel. “It’s highly profitable, and its business model is in subscriptions, virtual currency and advertisement. My gaming background is exactly in that.”

Paltalk makes money when users send virtual gifts to each other or when they sign up for a subscription that gets rid of pop-up banners ads.  Users also pay to sign up for more simultaneous video windows.
