Loic Le Meur Sells LeWeb Conference Majority Stake To Reed Midem

Reed Midem is an international trade show organizer company that has bought the rights to the LeWeb conference.  The LeWeb conference has around two annual events and they recently attracted around 3,500 attendees in Paris.  Some of the speakers at that event included Kevin Systrom of Instagram and Tony Fadell of Nest.

LeWeb co-founder Loic Le Meur said that the sale will let his business expand.  “We want to keep the growth going, being in more places and more countries,” stated Le Meur.  He started LeWeb his his wife Geraldine Le Meur in 2004.  “We needed a partner that could help us do this.”

The Le Meurs will continue running the LeWeb conference and they did not reveal how much Reed paid for the stake in the conference.  Reed runs two events around the TV and music industry called Mipcom and Midem.  Below is a video about the partnership:
