Google Scans The Oldest Known Biblican Manuscripts Including 10 Commandments

About a year ago, Google scanned five manuscripts of the Dead Sea Scrolls, which are ancient documents that include the oldest known biblical manuscripts that exist.  The Scrolls were written over 2,000 years ago on parchment and papyrus, preserved in a hot and dry desert climate, hidden within deep caves.  The Scrolls are considered one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.  Google is working with the Israel Antiquities Authority to launch the Leon Levy Dead Sea Scrolls Digital Library.

In that collection, there is an online collection of over 5,000 images of scroll fragments at a quality that has never been seen before.  The texts even contain one of the earliest known copies of the Book of Deuteronomy, which includes the Ten Commandments and part of Chapter 1 of the Book of Genesis.  The Book of Genesis describes the creation of the world.  The scans also contain details about a time when Jesus lived and preached along with the history of Judaism.
