Tapit Raises $2.3 Million Series A
Tapit Media is a near field communications company that has raised $2.3 million in Series A funding led by MPC Ventures, which is a subsidiary of Monash Private Capital Limited in Sydney, Australia. Other investors that participated in this round include IT entrepreneurs David Shein, David Thrum, and Jon Medved’s ourcrowd.com. Tapit has built an enterprise NFC ecosystem to make the way that people get content and information easier when they are on the go.
When pressing one of Tapit’s symbols on their phone, they will get access to information immediately. An application on the phone is not required and the technology reduces the need to search, scan a QR code, or type with fingers. Tapit places NFC chips on physical objects on outdoor ads, retail shelves, packages, shop windows, food court tables, etc. Once tapped with an NFC-enabled phone, the user will be directed to certain types of content like coupons or information about the venue.
