Maker Studios Raises $36 Million

Maker Studios is a company that has raised $36 million in funding led by Time Warner Investments.  Other investors that participated in this round include Greycroft Partners, GRP Partners, Downey Ventures, Elisabeth Murdoch, FUEL, Jon Miller, M+C, Ynon Kreiz, Daher Capital, and Jon Landau.

Maker Studios is a company that was co-founded by YouTube celebrities Lisa Donovan, Danny Zappin (CEO), Kassem Gharaibeh, Shay Butler, and Ben Donovan.  Rachel Lam of Time Warner will be joining the company’s board of directors.

Maker has raised a total of $44 million thus far.  Maker’s videos are now hitting over 2 billion views per month and they are among the top 3 independent YouTube networks based on unique viewers and video views.
