Startups Have Raised $12 Million By Using AngelList

AngelList is a social network that helps connect startup entrepreneurs with investors.  AngelList has announced that in the past 30 days, over $12 million has been raised for companies through the network.  Around 95% of that amount was made offline.

Online investment through AngelList was made possible last week and it has raised $600,000 already.  According to a blog post, AngelList helped 1,000 startups get funding since 2010.

If investors spot a company that they are interested in, they can choose to fund the company either online or offline.  AngelList partnered with SecondMarket on the investments, which allows smaller investors the opportunity to put in as little as $1,000 into a startup.
