Apple Partnering With Broadcam To Make WiFi Faster On Macs
Apple is partnering with Broadcam to make the WiFi connections on Mac computers faster according to The Next Web. The new WiFi chips are not yet finished, but they will be able to hit speeds as high as 1.3Gbps, which is known as “Gigabit WiFi.” It will not make your Internet connection faster. This is great for wireless technologies like AirPlay and for swapping files between multiple computers within your home. The new WiFi chips will be known as 802.11ac (5G WiFi), which will have faster throughput and higher capacity. It also has wider coverage and improved power efficiency. The connections would support up to 450Mbps with 3 antennas.
