Apple Store In Paris Gets Robbed On New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve, the Apple retail store in Paris was robbed.  Police were busy monitoring the area around the Champs-Elysees for the New Year celebrations.  Armed thieves broke into the store and got a hold of around $1.3 million worth of goods.

Four masked men broke into the back entrance of the Apple store in the Opera district.  From there, they threatened a security guard.  A janitor was slightly injured.  The four masked men were very well organized and they ran off with boxes of stocked devices.  The stocked devices were loaded into a nearby parked truck three hours after the store was closed.

“They prepared their coup pretty well,” stated Christophe Crépin, a spokesman for the French police union Unsa.  “Since the essential bulk of police forces were mobilized to patrol the Champs-Elysées, the thieves clearly profited from the opportunity to make their move,” Crépin said.
