The Nvidia Grid Is A Cloud-Based Gaming Platform

At CES 2013, Nvidia announced Grid.  Grid is a cloud-based gaming platform that can sync across multiple devices.  Nvidia Grid can be considered a “Netflix for video games.”  The games are guaranteed to be high quality too.

During CES, Nvidia showcased a demo of the game Trine 2 on the LG 4K TV.  When a player saved a game, it was picked from the exact same place on another device during the demo.  This works similarly to the way you can resume a video from Netflix from a desktop browser on to your iPad.

Nvidia said that the GPU tower for the combines the power of “700 Xbox 360s” into one single unit.  Nvidia will be licensing the Grid software to companies in the U.S. and abroad.  The Nvidia Grid will compete against companies like OnLive and Gaikai.
