How Businesses Benefit From The Facebook Graph Search

Earlier this week Facebook announced a new service called Graph Search.  Facebook said that the Graph Search feature will make it easier for users to find a business’ Page.  Facebook suggested that you keep your Page up-to-date.  They said that the name, category, vanity URL, and information that you share in the About should be shared on Facebook.

Facebook also said that you should update your address to make sure that you appear as a result when someone is searching for a specific location.  The company said that the more information you put on Facebook, the more likely you will show up on search.  Pages that are growing in popularity will be taken into account when listing Pages at the top of search rather than just the current popularity.

Facebook’s Graph Search feature helps you find businesses when you conduct searches like “BBQ restaurants that my friends have been to in New Orleans,” “hotels near the Eiffel Tower,” or even “what TV shows do my friends like?”

Facebook Graph Search is in beta test right now and is not available to most users.  Graph Search will see Facebook’s search engine being completely overhauled.  It will continue to respect the user’s existing privacy settings.
