Ping Fu Went From Being A Child Soldier To The CEO Of Geomagic

When Ping Fu was eight years old, she was abducted by Mao Zedong’s Red Guards.  She was taken from her home to be a child soldier.  As a kid, she had to work in farms and factories while taking care of her little sister at the same time.

Shockingly, Fu was beaten and raped repeatedly by the Red Guards.  Fu wrote about her childhood in her new book “Bend, Not Break: A Life In Two Worlds.”  When Fu was 25, she wrote her thesis on the old child policy happening in China.

Fu was imprisoned and exiled after her thesis was published.  Now Fu is the co-founder and CEO of a 3D software company called Geomagic. Fu is also a member of President Obama’s National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.  You can see an interview of Fu on The Huffington Post.
