The 2014 Kia Cadenza Is The Company’s First Premium Car
Kia Motors Corporation showcased the Kia Cadenza earlier this month. The Kia Cadenza is a full-size sedan that is similar to the Kia K9. This will be Kia’s first attempt at the premium automobile market.
“Since the introduction of the range-topping Optima SXL last year, we have seen an increasing number of customers in our retail outlets looking for a sedan with even more upscale amenities and technology,” stated Kia Motors Corporation EVP of marketing and communications Michael Sprague. “The Cadenza is the new flagship for Kia in the U.S. market, and when it goes on sale later this year, it will introduce a number of advanced systems that promise to set a new standard in the premium segment.”
The Kia Cadenza has a V6 engine with a 3.3L unit with direct injection. The Kia Cadenza has 293 horsepower with 255 lb-ft of torque. The new engine in the vehicle has gone through over 300 hours of straight redlining to prove how durable it is. The engine was tested under a full load above redline for 20 hours straight too.
