Google Street View Now Lets You Hike The Grand Canyon
Google Maps product manager Ryan Falor announced that the company has indexed 75 miles of trails and rounds around the Grand Canyon. Google Street View lets you hike down the Bright Angel Trail and South Kaibab Trail to look out at the beautiful Colorado River and explore scenes in 360 degrees.
The imagery was made possible with Trekker. Google’s team put on the Android-operated 40-pound backpacks with a 15-lens camera system. There are over 9,500 panoramas of the Grand Canyon available on Google Maps.
