Apple Job Posting Indicates That Siri Is Coming To The Mac

There was a job posting on the Apple website for a position called “Siri UI Engineer.”  The job posting was looking for an engineer that has experience with Unix (OS X).  The position specifically mentioned OS X and not iOS.  Siri has been released only on iOS so far.  The posting has been removed after it received some attention from the press.

It has been rumored that Siri ail be coming to OS X for a while now.  Specifically, it is expected to arrive in version OS X version 10.9.  When Apple the Mountain Lion operating system (version 10.8), all Macs came bundled with dictation software.  It makes sense for Siri to come next as Apple did with the iPad.  The iPad received dictation in version iOS 5.1 and then Siri in iOS 6.

Siri is an intelligent personal assistant that works as an application for Apple iOS.  The application uses a natural language user interface to answer questions and make recommendations.
