Cadillac CUE To Improve Responsiveness Later This Year

General Motors is working on updating the Cadillac User Experience (CUE) infotainment system.  The system has a capacitive touchscreen and multi-touch controls.  Unfortunately the CUE is not responsive and it lags.  Later this year, Cadillac will release an update for the infotainment system to improve the feedback for the touchscreen controls and the capacitive virtual buttons on the center stack.

“We’re hearing about our haptics and the desire for quicker responses,” stated CUE design manager Jeff Massimilla in an interview with Wired. “And we’re making a modification that will be released sometime later this year.”

The update for the CUE will be available for the Cadillac XTS and ATS.  It will address the issue of detection speed and response immediacy as well.  The update will be controlled by Cadillac dealers and will not happen over the air even though there is an embedded data connection in the CUE-equipped models.
