The Chevy Sonic and Spark Are The First Cars To Get Siri Eyes Free Integration
Today the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic and Spark vehicles with Chevrolet MyLink will be available with Siri, the intelligent assistant maintained by Apple Inc. “The Chevy Sonic and Spark are the first vehicles to offer Siri Eyes Free integration,” said Chevrolet marketing director for small cars Cristi Landy. “Safe, easy, reliable and portable connectivity is a top priority for our customers, and Siri complements MyLink’s existing capabilities to help deliver an incredible driving experience.”
Through Siri integration, users will be able to connect their iPhone using Bluetooth. Siri can start listening to commands after the user taps on the steering wheel voice activation button. Siri can be told to perform tasks like hands-free calling, play songs on iTunes, compose an iMessage, access calendar, and ask for games scores.
If you own a 2013 Chevrolet Spark or Sonic, you can upgrade the MyLink radio for Siri integration starting in March. Vehicles that are purchased after today will have the upgrade already installed. The iPad can also be used with MyLink, but it will need an Internet connection for Siri to work.
