LG Electronics and China Mobile has showcased the first TD-LTE capable smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The TD-LTE smartphone demo at MWC was done on a modified LG Optimus G smartphone.

Oracle co-founder and CEO Larry Ellison officially announced that he has acquired Island Air today. The acquisition secures the future of Island Air and their employees. Island Air already added one new ATR 72 aircraft to their fleet, which gives customers the option to enjoy a larger plane with more seats and legroom.
STELLAService, a company that can track and rate online shopping, has raised $15 million. Based in New York City, STELLAService works with retail customers like 1-800-CONTACTS, Eddie Bauer, Nautica, and GNC to understand and improve how they work with online shoppers. STELLAService has raised a total of $22 million since they were founded in 2009. Norwest Venture Partners led the $15 million round of funding.
Apple Passbook is an application in iOS that lets you store coupons, boarding passes, store cards, event tickets, and other forms of mobile payment. Back in September 2012, four teams started supporting MLB Passbook. Now 14 more MLB teams will be supporting Passbook this year according to GigaOM. The MLB was among some of the first partners to join Apple Passbook when it was announced last year at WWDC.
This morning, someone posted that they are selling a pair of Google Glass on eBay. The bidding hit around $15,000 across 36 bids. People really want to get their hands on the smart-glasses. Unfortunately for the bidders, eBay removed the listing.

Back then people thought that the Titanic was “unsinkable,” but it was unable to withstand crashing into a glacier. Clive Palmer, an Australia-based millionaire, is having a new ship built called the Titanic 2. The Titanic 2 is planned to set sail in 2016 from Southampton, England to New York.
Hotwire co-founders Gregg Brockway and Eric Grosse have launched a new startup company called Chairish. Chairish is an online furniture consignment company. The idea for Chairish was started after Brockway left his other company TripIt when it was acquired by Concur Technologies for $120 million in 2011.
