Groupon Fires CEO Andrew Mason

Groupon has fired CEO Andrew Mason.  The company is currently looking for a new CEO.  Executive chairman Eric Lefkofsky and vice chairman Ted Leonsis are going to be filling in during the interim.  Mason was even speculating that the board would fire him back in November 2012.  The problem Groupon is having as a public company is that they lost a fifth of their value since going public and they have been reporting consecutive quarterly losses.

Sergey Brin Calls Smartphones “Emasculating,” Says Google Glass “Free Your Eyes”

Google co-founder Sergey Brin is working on a new project called Google Glass.  Google Glass are smart-glasses that lets you surf the Internet, record videos, and pull up navigation using voice commands.  Brin said that the idea for Google Glass was to prevent social isolation.

Stanford Graduate Frank Brown Is Suing Snapchat Co-Founders

Frank Brown is a South Carolina based man that attended Stanford University with Snapchat co-founders Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy.  Brown claims that he came up with the idea for Snapchat and approached Spiegel with the idea.  He claimed that he had a “million dollar ideas” on his hands.  Now Brown is suing Snapchat.

GM Is Planning To Build 20% More Hybrids This Year Than 2012

General Motors is going to build around 36,000 Chevrolet Volt and plug-in hybrids this year.  This is 20% more than they sold in 2012.  GM is working on building around 1,500-3,000 plug-in vehicles per month.  The company sold around 30,000 Volt and Opel Ampera cars in 2012 according to GM spokesman Jim Cain.
