Facebook To Announce A News Feed Redesign On March 7

Facebook has sent out invitations to a press event taking place at their Menlo Park headquarters on March 7.  The company is expected to showcase a redesign of the News Feed and Timeline.  The new Timeline is being tested in New Zealand as of right now.  The changes are reflected in the toolbar, About widget, Likes, app updates, Photos, and shared links.  The changes are rather subtle so I doubt there will be as much outrage that Facebook has seen in the past.

You will notice that the Photo tiles for Friends and Photos are moved.  The Map and Subscriber information has been moved to a lower place in the profile.  A call button is also placed on top of the Cover Photo if you inputted your contact number.  The Timeline navigation has been moved to the top right of the page and the sponsored stories are placed below that.  The About page is moved right below the profile picture and status updates are moved to the center.
