Carrie Fisher Was Joking About Joining “Star Wars: Episode VII”

Carrie Fisher is known for playing Princess Leia Organa in Star Wars: Episode VII.  Fisher said that she was joking about the announcement.  Fisher’s representative has not said anything about her involvement with J.J. Abrams’ sequel for Star Wars.  Fisher has an idea for the character’s progression in the film.

“Elderly,” said Fisher.  “She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.”

J.J. Abrams will be directing the new Star Wars movie and screenwriter Michael Arndt will work on the script.  Mark Hamill (the man behind Luke Skywalker) said that producers have been in touch with some of the original cast members since the announcement.

“I’m assuming, because I haven’t talked to the writers, that these movies would be about our offspring — like my character would be sort of in the Obi-Wan range, an influential character,” said Hamill.
