Apple Adds Two-Step Verification To Apple IDs

Apple Inc. has announced that there is now a two-step verification available for Apple IDs when using iTunes or the App Store.  The two step verification process will require users to type in a special code that can be send through text messages before making a purchase or accessing a service.

Apple users will need to register their device to receive the code.  Everytime a purchase is made from an Apple computer, smartphone, tablet, or iPod, the company will send a random four-digit code that must be used to complete the transaction.  The codes can also be sent through the Find My iPhone app.

If you forget your password, users can get a 14-digit recovery key.  Apple recommends that users should print multiple copies of the recovery key and keeping it in a safe place.
