Facebook Home Gets Very Negative Reviews In Google Play Store
Facebook Home is a user interface designed for certain versions of Android that puts social network at the forefront of the mobile experience. Facebook Home shows a steady stream of friends’ posts and photos on the home screen. There are upfront notifications and quick access to your Facebook friends. Facebook Messenger lets you keep chatting with friends as you use other apps with Facebook Home installed. Facebook Home became available for download this past Friday and there are already around 4,000 user reviews. Unfortunately, most of those reviews are negative.
As of the time I am writing this article, there are 4,112 ratings:
– 1,953 give the app 1 star
– 605 give the app 2 stars
– 465 give the app 3 stars
– 380 give the app 4 stars
– 709 give the app 5 stars.
This means that over 50% of the reviewers give the app two stars or less, giving the app an average rating of 2.3.
Jeremy Noah, a Samsung Galaxy S3 user wrote, “No widgets, kinda clunky, and petty much just Facebook with access to your apps drawer. Meh, an unimpressive launcher compared to most others.”
“Not an intuitive app. Made my phone so frustratingly complicated to use that I uninstalled after just four or five hours,” added Victoria Wiley, another Samsung Galaxy S user.
Google Play only allows reviews to be added by people that have actually download the app. The Facebook app on Android has a 3.6 rating and the Facebook Messenger app on Android has a 4.4 rating.
Clearly the reviews for Facebook Home out-the-gate are not very positive, but at least people love the goat in the ad.
