Cory Booker’s Video Curation Website Waywire Gets A New Design

Waywire is a video website that was co-founded by Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker.  Today the website has been redesigned with user interface cues inspired by Pinterest.  Waywire allows users to grab video clips from the Internet and put them into custom “wires.”  The homepage of Waywire has popular news clips curated from websites like CNN, ABC, NBC, Vimeo, Buzzfeed, The Wall Street Journal, etc.

Waywire users now have the option to add hashtags to videos.  Multiple wires can be mixed into a single feed and the video thumbnail can be set for each video.

“We’re allowing people to arrange videos into relevant collections so they have context, which is something that a lot of video services can’t really do,” stated Waywire co-founder Nathan Richardson in an interview with VentureBeat.

Investors in Waywire include Oprah Winfrey, Eric Schmidt, Troy Carter, Jeff Weiner, and Reid Hoffman.
