Ionic Security Raises $9.4 Million

Ionic Security is a company that can protect sensitive data anywhere it travels and resides whether it is on corporate networks, the cloud, or mobile devices.  Ionic Security offers access control, intellectual property monitoring, data encryption, and policy management. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Ionic Security has raised $9.4 million in Series A funding led by Kleiner Perkins.

Other investors in this round include TechOperators, Ken Levine, and Paul Judge. Ted Schlein (Kleiner Perkins partner) and Tom Noonan (TechOperators) has joined the board of directors at Ionic.

“Enterprises want to take advantage of the reduced costs and increased usability of cloud and mobile applications, but hesitate due to security concerns,” stated Ionic Security CEO Steve Abbott. “Our Fusion platform provides the security controls executives need to approve cloud migrations, especially in regulated environments. Customers see lower costs, higher employee satisfaction and increased security.”
