Facebook Home Hits Over 500,000 Downloads On Google Play

The Facebook Home app has surpassed 500,000 downloads on the Google Play store after about a week of availability for certain Android devices.  Unfortunately, the early adopters testing out Facebook Home have provided mostly negative feedback.  The app has an average rating of 2.2.

Facebook released Facebook Home in the U.S. on April 12 and it was rolled out internationally four days later.

The adoption of the Facebook Home platform is substantially less than the company’s other applications.  The Facebook app on Android has between 100 million and 500 million downloads.  Instagram, the app that Facebook acquired last year, hit one million downloads in 24 hours when it was made available for Android users.
