Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer, Sean Parker, and Brad Smith Join FWD.us
Earlier this month, we wrote about how Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg launched a political group called FWD.us. Now Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Microsoft General Counsel and EVP Brad Smith, and Airtime founder Sean Parker have also joined FWD.us. FWD.us is focused on immigration, education, and employment issues in Washington D.C.
“We’re thrilled that Bill Gates, Brad Smith, Steve Ballmer, and Sean Parker — longtime advocates for vital policies like comprehensive immigration reform that will grow our economy — are joining FWD.us’ efforts to organize and engage the tech community,” stated FWD.us president Joe Green. “We’ve been excited by the momentum we continue to see as more members of the tech community contribute to the national debate to improve our economic future, and support the bipartisan policies that will boost economic growth and continue to grow the knowledge economy.”
Some of FWD.us’ other backers include Reid Hoffman, Eric Schmidt, Marissa Mayer, Drew Houston, Jim Breyer, Matt Cohler, Paul Graham, Max Levchin, Aditya Agarwal, Ron Conway, Chamath Palihapitiya, Joe Green, and Ruchi Sanghvi.
