Parent Company Of The Verge, Vox Media Plans To Be Profitable This Year
Vox Media is one of the fastest growing media companies that is known for running the websites SB Nation, The Verge, and Polygon. Vox Media CEO Jim Bankoff said that the company is doing very well and said that they will be profitable this year.
“The growth numbers are great,” stated Bankoff at the TechCrunch Disrupt NY conference today. “We’ll be a profitable company this year. … We expect to be very profitable in the near future.”
Vox Media raised over $23 million from Khosla Ventures, Accel Partners, and Comcast Ventures. The funding was put towards the salaries of their writers, well designed websites, and high-quality content.
Bankoff noted that The Verge and SB Nation was profitable. Polygon is not a profitable media company yet.
Bankoff also announced Vox Creative today, which is a new division of Vox Media that focuses on brand advertising solutions.
