Skytree Raises $18 Million

Skytree is a “big data” startup that has raised $18 million in Series A funding led by U.S. Venture Partners, UPS, and former Sun Microsystems CEO Scott McNealy.  The funds will be used for an “aggressive growth strategy.”

The company is aiming to disrupt the “Advanced Analytics market with a Machine Learning platform that gives organizations the power to discover deep analytic insights, predict future trends, make recommendations and reveal untapped markets and customers.”

Launched in February 2012, Skytree’s other investors include Javelin Venture Partners and Osage University Partners.  The company is led by Martin Hack, whom is the president, CEO, and co-founder.
