MindMixer Raises $4 Million

MindMixer is a startup that helps organizations collect ideas from communities.  MindMixer has raised $4 million in Series B funding.  MindMixer’s tools asks for ideas and feedback online from organizations.  Some of the organizations that MindMixer works with include the Washington D.C. public school district, Ohio State University, and Coursera.

MindMixer also powers the ImproveSF website, which is used for hosting challenges where San Francisco residents can contribute ideas around topics related to the city.  MindMixer plans to hit 1,000 customers by the end of the year.

“MindMixer is poised to positively transform how large organizations, such as school districts and civic groups, across the nation communicate and interact with their desired audiences,” stated MindMixer CEO Nick Bowden .  “With this new influx of capital, our online platform will provide more people with a new suite of tools to help them be heard and collectively arrive at solutions to problems, big and small.”

Nelnet led the round of funding with existing investors Dundee Venture Capital and Optimas Group.  Nelnet is an education finance and services company that is focused on providing free-based processing services and education products.
