FeedHenry Raises $9 Million From Intel, Kernel, VMware, ACT, and Enterprise Ireland

Based in Ireland, FeedHenry is a moble application platform company that has raised $9 million in funding, led by Intel Capital.  Existing investors Kernel Capital, VMware, and Enterprise Ireland participated in this round along with new investor ACT Venture Capital.  FeedHenry plans to use the funding to more than double their 40 employees count as part of an effort to expand globally.

FeedHenry offers a Mobile Application Platform for enterprises to simplify their mobile initiatives.  This platform is cloud-based and it supports app development.  It also has integration with backend systems and deployment to multiple devices.

FeedHenry started as a research project created by the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT).  The company spun out in November 2010.

“Increasingly, enterprises are viewing mobile apps as transformative to their business operations” stated FeedHenry CEO Cathal McGloin. “As organizations evolve towards more complex apps with connections to multiple backend systems, the need for a cloud-based mobile application platform is compelling. This new investment will give us the means to continue to innovate and expand the capabilities of our platform to better serve our growing customer base.”
