Wong joined Twitter around 5 months ago as the head of the legal team. Before that, she worked as a vice president and deputy general counsel at Google where she managed a team of lawyers that worked with the company’s engineers to have products reviewed before launching. The reviews dealt with issues like privacy, copyright, and removal requests. She also oversaw whether certain types of user-generated content would remain on YouTube and other Google-owned applications. Another major task she handled at Google was litigation in China surrounding censorship.
Prior to her eight-year stint at Google, Wong was a partner at the Perkins Coie law firm. She went to the University of California at Berkeley for her law degree. Twitter has not decided a replacement for Wong yet, according to AllThingsD.
