Accenture Plc (ACN) Acquires Design Firm Fjord
Accenture Plc (NYSE:ACN) has acquired design firm, Fjord for an undisclosed amount. Fjord is going to be integrated into Accenture Interactive. Fjord was founded 12 years ago by Mark Curtis, Mike Beeston, and Olof Schybergson in London.
“We set out to build a company that designs meaningful digital services that improve people’s lives in ways both large and small,” said Schybergson in a blog post.
Some of Fjord’s customers include Citibank, Nokia, Harvard Medical School, PayPal, BBC, and Orange. The company has come a long way since working out of a cramped office in Camden Town during spring 2001. Fjord has 9 offices in Europe and the U.S. Around 200 of Fjord’s employees will be joining Accenture.
“In order to capitalize on the disruptions being created by digital, and to sustain engagement with consumers, our clients need new services and experiences that are powered by technology, analytics, mobility, and scalable marketing operations,” said Accenture Interactive managing director Brian Whipple.
Fjord’s design capabilities will work well with Accenture Interactive’s business strategy, data analytics, and marketing operations. Accenture’s clients will be able to benefit from Fjord’s mobility capabilities as well. Aside from Fjord’s London headquarters, the company also has offices in Berlin, Istanbul, Helsinki, New York, Madrid, Paris, San Francisco, and Stockholm.
