Google Glass Gets Updated With Google+ Notifications

Google has released a major update to the software on Google Glass. Known as “XE5,” the update added improved usability and crash reporting.

The XE5 update includes the addition of Google+ notifications and easier searching from anywhere within the Google Glass interface. The battery charge estimation has been improved also.

Google Glass now supports crash reporting, international dialing, and changes to Sync policy (background uploads require power and WiFi now).  Google Glass supports the ability to comment and +1 on Google+ and there are now incoming Hangout notifications.  The transcription of queries and messages are now much faster through the update.

The update also includes the ability to long-press to search from anywhere in the user interface, not just from off.  You can dial international numbers and SMS from Google Glass and hop animation has been disallowed swipes in the user interface.  There is a new On-Head Detection Calibration flow.  The Series Number is now shown on the Device Info card as well.

Now that Google Glass is in the hands of testers, developers, and consumers, it will only get better and better from here on out.

For those of you that are out of the loop, Google Glass is a wearable computer with a head-mount display that is in the form of a pair of glasses.
