General Counsel Ted Ullyot Leaves Facebook Inc (FB)

Ted Ullyot, the top lawyer at Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), is leaving the company to take time off.  Ullyot, 45, is leaving in July and the company is going to search for replacements internally and externally.

During Ullyot’s time at Facebook, he oversaw cases like the Winklevoss twins case, a patent fight against Yahoo!, and the IPO error lawsuits.  When he was not taking care of these cases, he was constantly handling privacy issue lawsuits.

Ullyot joined Facebook in October 2008 and built the legal team from 10 people to over 70.  According to sources with AllThingsD, Ullyot already has another job lined up.

Ted Ullyot graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in 1990.  He attended the University of Chicago Law School with honors in 1994.  After graduating, he worked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and 4th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge J. Bush.
