Twitter and Square Co-Founder Jack Dorsey Auctioning A Lunch On eBay

Jack Dorsey, the creator of Twitter and founding CEO of Square, has partnered with auction manager Kompolt to set up a lunch meeting at Square’s office in San Francisco that will benefit charity.  The auction started on May 6th and will end on May 16th.  There are around 3 days left with a current bid of about $5,000.  The auction will benefit the charity.  The auction winning bidder will be allowed to bring a total of eight people.

Dorsey is not the only tech executive to auction his time for charity.  Apple CEO Tim Cook set up a coffee meeting auction, which has about 1 day left and has a current bid of around $605,000. Cook’s charity auction benefits the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights.

The’s mission is to use entrepreneurship to excite and propel disengaged, low-income students from high school to college success.  The organization was founded by Suzanne McKechnie Klahr in 1999.  Suzanne taught business entrepreneurship as part of a public service fellowship in East Palo Alto, California.  She came up with the idea for when four Latino boys approached her for some help.  They wanted to drop out of high school and start a small business.  She agreed to help them if they stayed in school and improved academically.
