Amazon Launches Coins Virtual Currency
Amazon.com has officially launched their own virtual currency, known as Coins. Amazon Coins can be used for apps, in-app purchases, and games. When Kindle Fire users get started with Amazon Coins, they will get $5 in credits for free.
One hundred Amazon Coins will cost $1, but Amazon will be offering discounts for bulk purchases of Coins. By buying large quantities of Amazon Coins, you may see around a 10% discount. For example, 500 Amazon Coins costs $4.80 (4% savings) and 10,000 Coins costs $90 (10% savings).
There are no expiration dates on the Amazon Coins. They can be used on the second-generation Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD 7″, Kindle Fire HD 8.9″, and the Amazon Appstore on Amazon.com. The 1st generation Kindle Fire users can use Amazon Coins also, but they will have to buy whatever they want through Amazon.com, not through the tablet itself. This article was written by Amit Chowdhry.
