Business Process Management Company BonitaSoft Raises $13 Million
BonitaSoft is a business process management company that has raised $13 million in a third round of funding. Bonita has three major solution products including process modeling, a workflow engine, and a breakthrough user interface to create process-based applications. The company sells subscriptions in several tiers. BonitaSoft has raised $13 million in a Series C round of funding.
Based in Grenoble, France, Bonita’s open-source software is also available as a free download from their website. The Series C round of funding was led by the French National Fund for Digital Society. Existing investors that participated in this round includes Ventech, Auriga Partners, and Serena Capital. Bonita has raised over $28 million since being founded in June 2009.
“We are delighted with the support from the FSN PME fund established by the French government,” stated BonitaSoft CEO and co-founder Miguel Valdes Faura. “The vote of confidence shows the value BonitaSoft brings to the BPM market. Customers have made it known that they want innovative, flexible and cost-effective solutions to improve their business processes, and we will continue to deliver solutions that meet this need.”
The company plans to use the funding to expand further into Latin America, the U.S., and Europe. The company is adding around 60 new employees in San Francisco, Paris, and Grenoble.
BonitaSoft’s sales grew 130% overall and 390% in the U.S. alone in the last year. They have over 600 clients across the world including Accenture, DirecTV, and Teach for America. The company’s open-source BPM solutions have been downloaded over 2 million times.
