Ziff Davis Acquires NetShelter
Ziff Davis has acquired NetShelter, a community of publishers that focuses on consumer electronics, mobile devices, and computing technologies. Ziff Davis bought NetShelter from inPowered. Ziff Davis is a subsidiary of j2 Global Inc. NetShelter joins Ziff Davis’ other properties that includes PCMag.com and Toolbox.com.
According to comScore, Ziff Davis is now the number one property in the technology category with 29 million monthly U.S. unique visitors as of April. Ziff Davis also has a gaming division called IGN Entertainment, which is the number one in the gaming information category according to comScore. Ziff Davis is now #31 in comScore’s Top 100 with 36.5 million monthly unique visitors in the U.S. and 117 million unique monthly visitors worldwide.
NetShelter has plans to integrate Ziff Davis’ BuyerBase technology in order to offer advertisers a new option. BuyerBase is a data-driven ad targeting platform that collects, scores, and organizes billions of buying signals per month across 40 million tech buyers that visits 150 websites. Those websites are provided with relevant ads across the web across various devices. NetShelter’s community of websites include MacRumors.com, AndroidCentral.com, SlashGear.com, Neoseeker.com, and TechSpot.com. These websites generate over 40,000 articles per month and delivers 16 billion ad impressions per year.

The terms of the acquisition was undisclosed.
