Popular Gmail App Mailbox Releases A Native iPad App
Dropbox subsidiary and popular Gmail app, Mailbox, has launched a newly designed iPad app. The new Mailbox app still works with only Gmail accounts and it has the same functionality as the old app. It still features the same organizing functionality to help users achieve “inbox zero. Gentry Underwood, the CEO of Mailbox, said that there was a lot of requests to have an app designed specifically for the Apple iPad.
In the past, iPad users could still access Mailbox, but it was designed for smaller devices like the iPod Touch and iPhone. The new Mailbox iPad app supports archiving, deleting, e-mail lists, and setting messages to pop back up again later for review.
Mailbox believes that people use e-mail as an inefficient checklist because people tend to send e-mails to themselves as reminders and sort them into folders.
Mailbox has hit over 1 million users that send over 100 million messages per day. The company has plans to expand their application to Android and the desktop in the near future.
