The Chevy Spark EV Price Drops To Below $20,000 Including Tax Credits

Chevrolet has dropped the price of the Spark EV to $27,495.  If a buyer qualifies for the federal tax credit of $7,500 – the price will drop to $19,995.  The Spark EV went for sale in June in California and Oregon.  Spark EV buyer in California can apply for further credits that are up to $2,500.

chevy-spark-evThe Spark EV gets a range of 82 miles from its 21kWh lithium ion battery pack.  The Spark EV can work with DC fast-charging stations.  The Spark EV is compatible with Chevy’s RemoteLink app, which connects to the vehicle using Bluetooth with the in-car system and OnStar.  There is a cabin electronics feature that helps owners plot routers with charging stations as the waypoints.

According to CNET, Chevrolet also said that dealers can offer leases for $199 per month and the Spark EV will save owners around $150 per month in fuel charges.  It costs $999 in initial payments and fees if you qualify for a loan.

The Spark EV is not the cheapest electric car that is available in the market.  You can buy a Smart Electric Drive for $25,000 before tax credits and state incentives.
