Facebook Marketing Company Betapond Raises 2 Million Euros
Based in Ireland, Betapond is a Facebook marketing technology company that has raised 2 million euros (approximately $2.5 million), according to the Irish Times. This funding round was led by The Ulster Bank Diageo Venture Fund. The funding was managed by Investec Ventures, Delta Partners, and Irrus Investments.
Betapond has raised a total of 3.15 million euros. The company raised 1.15 million euros from the Bank of Ireland Start-up and Emerging Sectors Equity Fund in 2011. That fund is managed by Delta Partners, Irrus Investments, and Enterprise Ireland. Betapond plans to use the funding to accelerate the development of their social commerce platform. Betapond’s social commerce platform will power product recommendations from Facebook friends.
Betapond clients include Tourism Ireland, Intel, Dove, Unilever, and The Met Office. The company is based in Waterford, Ireland and they have offices in Dublin, San Jose, and London.
“This funding enables the company to accelerate its development and go-to-market plan to be a global leader in social commerce solutions,” stated Betapond CEO Declan Kennedy.
