Salesforce.com Company Communities Makes Corporate Intranets More Exciting

Enterprise software-as-a-service company Salesforce.com has announced a new service called “Company Communities,” according to VentureBeat.  Salesforce.com will aims to replace corporate Intranets with a more exciting platform through social network integration and customized mobile applications for iOS and Android.

Some of Salesforce.com Company Communities available tools include Site.com, which lets you publish and brand team pages.  The Salesforce.com Company Communities has a mobile SDK that can be access through the Salesforce Platform.  Work.com can offer badges for employees on the Salesforce.com Company Communities.

Some companies that have already integrated Salesforce.com Company Communities include Virgin America and Burberry.  Virgin Mobile gives employees mobile access, team updates, and team performance statistics.  Salesforce.com Company Communities is currently available in beta, but it will go fully live in the second half of 2013.  The pricing details will be available when it is fully launched.
