The successor to the BlackBerry Z10 is known as the BlackBerry A10.  According to CNET, the A10 will launch over the holidays.  The A10 is expected to arrive in November, just in time for the holiday season shopping rush.  Earlier this year, BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins said that he was “really excited about” a new product in the company’s pipeline.  At that time, he did not provide any additional details.

When the A10 arrives, the Z10 and Q10 will be bumped down to the mid-range status upon arrival.  The A10 will be a full touchscreen device and Sprint is already on-board for selling the device upon release.  Some Sprint customers were upset when the company decided not to sell the Z10.  However, there are reports that Sprint knew what was coming and decided to wait for the A10 rather than offer the Z10.  Sprint’s deal for the A10 is not exclusive.  The A10 may have a similar look and feel as the Z10, but with souped up features.  As a refresher, the Z10 has a 4.2-inch screen, 1,280 x 768 display, and a dual-core processor.

This is great news for the Canadian-based phone manufacturing company as they are making a recovery under Hein’s leadership.  Another flagship phone made by BlackBerry, known as the Q10, is going to be the company’s first device to launch on all 4 U.S. national carriers.  T-Mobile will be the first to offer the Q10 starting today and the other three carriers will join later on.  This is the first BlackBerry device that has sold on all four U.S. nationwide carriers.
